    Hi Cam,

FYI - Here’s an article on Robert Sheckley; http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/10/books/10sheckley.html

Unfortunately I can’t recall too many titles, other than Untouched by Human Hands. Certain there’s at least one “best of” anthology out there.

Reading second hand books led me to join a mail order science fiction book club while in high school. It was as a result of that book club membership that I first I read the Best of Robert Sheckley, and other of his works.

I was later to be a regular fixture at the sci fi club in college (great lending library) during the late 70’s and on. It was during those last crazy days of long hair and bell bottoms, before punk became mainstream.

The 1980’s hadn’t hit yet, so the first people I saw wearing 50’s retro clothing were the folks in the sci fi club. They stood out, in an intentionally ironic, extroverted introvert kind of way, dressed as if they were off to a convention. On any given day one or more might look like something off the covers of the old anthology mags, Robo Hunter comics, or films such as Forbidden Planet, When Worlds Collide, etc.

Anyway, Sheckley’s worth a look; as is in a similar way, Ray Bradbury’s old mentor, Henry Kuttner.
